Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Dashboard Funding Opportunities

Last Modified: November 07, 2024

APHIS offers funding through public-private partnerships to develop antimicrobial resistance (AMR) dashboards. These dashboards provide critical data to address AMR and help protect people and animals from this growing global health threat.

Funded projects support priority topics that improve access to information on AMR in domesticated animals, including livestock, poultry, and companion animals. We use this information to monitor trends in AMR patterns, detect emerging resistance profiles, and better understand relationships between antimicrobial use and animal health management practices and AMR.

This work is vital in addressing the One Health challenge of AMR.

Funded Projects

APHIS has invested millions of dollars to support the development of AMR dashboards. These AMR dashboards will provide insights into AMR trends in domesticated animals, ensuring informed decision making and targeted interventions. This collaborative effort will harness the power of data to inform strategies for responsible antimicrobial use and monitor the emergence of resistant bacteria.

FY 2023 Awarded Projects

In fiscal year (FY) 2023, we funded:

  • Eight projects to develop AMR dashboard tools that can securely track the emergence and spread of antimicrobial-resistant microbes in domesticated animals.
  • Seven projects to identify and/or develop methods for protecting confidentiality of data related to AMR in domesticated animals.
  • Ten projects to identify data user needs and preferences for AMR dashboard tools.
  • Six projects to explore aspects of data management for AMR dashboard tools.
